FISHING ON THE BELVOIR LAKES
The three lakes at Belvoir Castle offer fantastic coarse fishing in stunning surroundings. The two larger lakes are both approximately 12 acres and offer exceptional Carp (30lb), Bream (14lb) and Tench (8lb) fishing with pleasure catches often in excess of 100lbs. The waters also contain Roach (2lbs), Rudd (1lb), Perch (3lbs) and large pike up to (25lbs).
The fishery responds well to ground-bait feeder and red maggot, worms and sweetcorn. Boilies and pellets are the best method for carp. In addition good catches can be made with waggler and long pole.
The small lake, which is approx 3/4 acre has been developed to offer all ages and levels of angler the opportunity to catch a wide variety of fish species. The lake is perfect for anyone wanting to catch large numbers of fish.
The fishery has been designed to offer good pole and whip fishing, however it also responds well to waggler tactics.
Regular open matches are held on the fishery with up to 80 pegs available. The current record is 95lbs of bream in five hours taken on ground-bait feeder and red maggot.
Match and club bookings are welcome but dates are limited. Please book early to avoid disappointment. The minimum booking accepted is 10 pegs and the cost is currently £5 per peg. The upper lake has a maximum of 15 pegs, the lower lake 45 pegs, and the small lake 20 pegs. The fishery is open all year round and night fishing is available for Syndicate members.
Day tickets cost £6.00 for adults and £4.50 for concessions.
Season tickets are £60.00 for adults and £45.00 for concessions.
