The Farm

The Belvoir Estate comprises 16,000 acres, 12,000acres of which is cropable land, 1,654 acres of woodland and 2,000 acres of permanent grassland.

The Estate is divided into two categories, the ‘in-hand’ estate where all of the farming and other businesses are managed by Belvoir (2,000 acres of arable land and 1,000 acres of permanent grassland and 1,654 acres of woodland) and the ‘let’ estate comprises the remaining estate, of which the farming and other enterprises are rented by tenants.

Woodland Management

The Belvoir Estate includes 1,654 acres of beautiful woodland which is home to many native and exotic tree species, ranging from one to several hundred years old. Logs and Woodfuel

At any one time, the Belvoir Estate has 2000 tonnes of cut wood stored and drying out for firewood and woodfuel. Of this some 500 tonnes are sold each year for high quality firewood delivered throughout the local area. Read more...

The Belvoir Estate has a wonderful cricket club which welcomes new members and spectators. With an eye on the future of country pursuits, Emma, Duchess of Rutland has launched the Belvoir Fieldsports 12-20 Club. This is a three-day residential summer term exeat camp aimed at 11-14-year-olds and is held in the grounds of Belvoir Castle.
