The Guard Room is the first room on entering the Castle, with high ceilings and two large open fires it makes an impressive room for an exquisite ceremony.

A dream entrance for any bride, the long staircase descends through two floors with the guests watching the bridal party's arrival in awe. String quartets love the acoustics of the room, and photographic opportunities are endless.

The Guard Room seats up to 130 guests however for larger weddings an additional gallery overlooking the Guard Room can hold a further 80 guests standing.

The bride and bridesmaids prepare and dress in the most regal surroundings of the King's Rooms - a suite of 3 stunning rooms and a bathroom.

The guests are invited to arrive up to an hour before the ceremony for coffee and soft drinks before taking their seats where they await the bride's memorable entrance as she descends the staircase from the King's Rooms.

Following the civil ceremony in the Guard Room the drinks reception and canapés take place on the 40 Acre Landing, Ballroom or Rose Garden, if the weather is fine.

There is a choice of serving the wedding breakfast in either the State Dining Room or Steward's Restaurant.

For the evening reception dancing and entertainment is in the unique Old Kitchen with a bar and seating in the Old Servant's Hall.
