Welcome to the Adventure Playground!

Our  Adventure Playground is inspired by the iconic architecture of Belvoir Estate and its past and present explorers. Altogether the playground covers four acres and is a safe space for imaginations to run free! Featuring a giant timber castle, along with a ship and towers, it is perfect for children and teenagers of all ages to explore!

Friends of Belvoir Annual Passes

 Our Friends of Belvoir passes include: 

  • Unlimited access to the gardens and play area on all our selected open days.
  • Friends of Belvoir Castle Gardens can enjoy 10% of Belvoir Estate accommodation. 
  • Free parking for one vehicle in the main ticket office car park.
  • 10% off purchases with your membership card at Vale View cafe. 

 Only one entry per family ticket is permitted to special events.

Suitable for all ages and abilities

 Whether they’re crawling, climbing or jumping for joy.

There also will be plenty for our smaller adventurers to explore! Walk the mini bridge, or slide and crawl through the tunnel specifically for the little ones. Honk the horn on the Duke’s 100 year old Renault Car all whilst enjoying the beautiful nature and woodlands Belvoir has to offer.

Discover magical new worlds

Calling all pirates, knights and explorers.

The castle structure has multiple levels to explore. Discover hidden tunnels, a giant tube slide and even a secret climbing wall! The ship, also accessible via a ramp, features porthole windows for spotting other pirates, a climbing net to scramble away from danger and even a zip wire for daring sailors to exit the deck and go flying through the trees.

 ereveryDiscovering new realms and expanding your imagination is hungry work! Give those little hands and feet a much-deserved rest during your visit and fill their tummies at any of our cafés and restaurants at Belvoir Castle and the Engine Yard.

Enjoy a light bite and a hot drink at the Vale View Café which is just a stone’s throw from the Adventure Playground! Need something more substantial? Then head over to the Engine Yard for a tasty, nutritious meal at the Belvoir Bistro – there are even wood-fired pizzas Served  11am-5pm every Saturday and Sunday.

Parking is available at the Main Castle Car Park (Long Stay), the cost is £1.20 per hour and £6 all day. Please pay on arrival.

Adventure Playground FAQs

What type of ticket do I need to purchase to access the Adventure Playground?

Access to the Adventure Playground is included in a Castle & Garden Entry Ticket, a Garden Only Ticket or Friends of Belvoir Annual Pass Membership.

Are dogs allowed in the Adventure Playground?

Dogs are NOT allowed within our Adventure Playground, although dogs on leads are welcome within our grounds.

Does a Friends of Belvoir Annual Pass include entry into Adventure Playground at Belvoir Castle?

Yes, Friends of Belvoir Annual pass holders get unlimited, free entry to the Adventure Playground. To avoid disappointment, we recommend booking your timeslot with the code ‘FOB’. If code FOB is used to book you will be asked to show proof of your membership on arrival.

Do HHA & RHS members get free entry?

Yes HHA & RHS members get free entry into the Adventure Playground.

How accessible is the Adventure Playground?

The Adventure Playground is set within a natural woodland, with some uneven ground and steps. However a wooden boardwalk, which reaches the top of the playground is accessible by wheelchair and pushchair, creating a fun and inclusive space for all of Belvoir’s visitors.

The design and build of this Adventure Playground Visitor Attraction is supported by the RDPE SCHEME: Growth Programme – Support for investments in the creation and development of non-agricultural activities. It is part funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
