Heroes of Belvoir Chris Ansell – Executive Head Chef at Belvoir Castle & the Engine Yard
Chris is the Executive Head Chef at Belvoir and oversees catering for The Fuel Tank in the Engine Yard, as well as events, weddings and conferences across the estate – the list goes on.
Since starting his role in January, Chris has already been involved in the creation of new, exciting dishes. His ethos is to allow great ingredients to speak for themselves, so finding local ingredients that were reared or grown to a high standard is a priority. He also likes to utilise the resources already available on the Belvoir Estate as a sustainable and local option.
Chris is currently working on new menus for The Fuel Tank and The Balloon Bar, due to launch on 13 March, just in time for Mother’s Day. He hopes it’ll help to give visitors a memorable dining experience.
In his spare time, Chris likes to stay active with kayaking, cooking and supporting his favourite football team.
