Belvoir Market & Pop Ups

We are thrilled to announce the Belvoir Pop-Ups that will begin at the Engine Yard from 17th February. Every weekend you can expect to see unique and new independent businesses join us. Each weekend there will be up to 6 different pop-ups joining us.

Every second and last Saturday of each month we will be hosting a much larger Belvoir Market with a gorgeous selection of food & artisan makers beginning the 9th March!

Belvoir Bistro

New life is coming to the Engine Yard with a brand new farm shop replacing four of the existing retail units, offering delicious artisan produce from local suppliers and familiar well loved brands. The Farm Shop which will be complete for the summer season, will be managed by the former co-owner of an award-winning delicatessen and a respected café and wine bar in Nottingham.

Adventure Playground at Belvoir Castle

Whilst you’re at the Engine Yard, your little explorers will have the greatest adventure at the Adventure Playground at Belvoir Castle. Spanning four acres, the Adventure Playground features multiple levels, hidden tunnels, and even a secret climbing wall!

What are the directions for public transport?

Grantham train station is closest to the Engine Yard, there are regular trains from London and the South.

When did the Engine Yard Open?

The Engine Yard Retail Village opened in 2018, and guests have enjoyed excellent shopping, delicious food and awesome events ever since.

Are dogs allowed at the Engine Yard Belvoir?

Yes, the Engine Yard welcomes dogs. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the Fuel Tank Kitchen and in most of our stores. We ask that they remain on a lead at all times.

What is the History of the Engine Yard?

The Old Engine Yard was developed in 1812 onwards when the new steam engine was installed to pump water from the village of Woolsthorpe to the Castle. The steam engine was housed in a tall building with arched windows in the middle of the yard – this has been reconstructed and can still be seen at the Engine Yard today.

When Belvoir Castle was fully built and more rooms were used by the family, the Engine Yard became the building yard for the ongoing construction and maintenance of the Castle and Gardens.

Trading in Belvoir is not a new concept! In the middle ages, the Duke of Rutland’s ancestors set up a Market and Summer Fair in 1100. Although we don’t know exactly where the Market and Fair took place, it would have been close to the Engine Yard.
