How accessible is Spectacle of Light?

Proudly crowning a hilltop in rural Leicestershire, Belvoir Castle was originally built as a fortification in the 12th century, providing stunning views of the panorama.

The natural topography of the Belvoir Estate and the gradient of the hillside, make the Spectacle of Light trail through the formal gardens and in to the landscape below incompatible with wheelchair, mobility scooter, and pushchair use.

People with restricted or fragile mobility should be mindful of this when booking this event. Appropriate footwear is recommended.

Eats and treats!

Take a moment to fortify yourself with mouth-watering treats available along the trail. Tantalise your taste buds with freshly made doughnuts, mac and cheese pots, cakes and sausage rolls as well as marshmallows, toasted over a firepit.

What could be better than a warming mulled wine, mulled cider or mug of steaming hot chocolate? Food and drink will be available half way through the trail and from chalets on the Castle North Terrace.
If you fancy something more substantial, we will be offering hearty Yorkshire pudding wraps and sausage and bacon cobs from Vale View Café by the ticket office. Supper is sorted!
