Emma, Duchess of Rutland, says: “The Engine Yard is all about bringing local people together and building a true sense of community. Sunita’s new Wellness Centre and Shop offer much more than a retail experience – they promote wellbeing using methods known in India for centuries.

“We have invested over £3.5m in the high-quality restoration of a collection of beautiful Victorian buildings to create the Engine Yard, which is overlooked by Belvoir Castle. Everyone is very excited to welcome Sunita and to experience the calming and healing qualities of what she does.”

Sunita Passi adds: “My focus on wellbeing is through caring for ourselves and those around us, and the ripples reach through family and colleagues into community and the wider world. Alongside yoga and meditation, I also practice Ayurvedic healing. Ayurveda is the time-tested Indian system of healing that remains hugely popular the world over. Literally translated from Sanskrit as the ‘science of life’, it is older than Buddhism and is a holistic health system which combines a toolkit of massage, yoga, meditation, nutrition and herbs.

“We can say it is an all-embracing prescription for how to live our lives and its message is relevant today as it was when first shared. Ayurveda works by treating the whole person, not just the symptom and by doing so, revolutionising our lifestyles right down to what we eat and how we sleep.

“In a world that needs people to slow down and feel good about themselves, these tried and tested tools offer accessible ways to be more of who you want to be. I am looking forward to enlightening people about the many benefits of these traditional wellbeing techniques.”

Sunita Passi Wellness Centre and Shop are open 10.00-17.00 Tuesday to Friday and 10.00-16.00 on Saturdays. For more information visit www.sunitapassi.com.
