Belvoir has been a preferred location for many production companies and filmmakers, the Gothic styled castle, picturesque estate and grounds many aspects of which were designed by Capability Brown and formal gardens by the famous Edwardian designer – Harold Peto. The estate also offers over 1,600 acres of native grown woodlands, secluded valleys with more exotic species of plants and trees – all of which are the perfect back-drop for filming and photo shoots.
With film credits from Little Lord Fauntleroy starring Sir Alec Guinness The castle was used to represent Castel Gandolfo in The Da Vinci Code as the Pope’s summer residence
Other film credits include – Young Sherlock Holmes, The Young Victoria, Jim Henson’s Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story, the 1999 remake of The Haunting and more recently – A Royal Night Out.
