Opening times

During open days, the Castle Gardens are open from 9.30am – 5pm. The gates close at 5pm, so please allow adequate time to vacate the premises.

The Vale View Café is the perfect pit stop before you explore the gardens. Savour hot drinks, snacks and even a sweet treat.

Once you’ve had your adventure, head to The Engine Yard Retail Village for a spot of retail therapy or a bite to eat at the Belvoir Bistro. 

Accessibility

The gardens are located on a hillside and can be tricky to negotiate. Mobility scooters and power chairs can navigate the paved Rose Gardens, but the gradient and gravel paths can make this hard work for standard wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome within our grounds, however, they must be kept on a lead at all times. Unfortunately, dogs are not welcome within the Castle.

Bookings

Children under the age of 3 do not require admissions tickets, and child admission tickets apply for ages 3 – 16.

Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable. We can exchange your tickets for another day if you’re unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Gardens

With over 16,000 acres to discover, adventures await. The Duchess Garden is a tranquil space with unique trees, the Formal Gardens are impressive and the Japanese Woodland features 250 specimen camellias.

Capability Brown drew up a landscaping plan for the Castle in 1780, and they were rediscovered in the Castle archives in 2013. Now that these plans have been completed, you can enjoy the picturesque landscape that Capability Brown had planned for Belvoir Castle.

Rose-Garden

The Duchess Garden

Adventure Playground

Inspired by the Castle’s architecture, the Adventure Playground at Belvoir Castle will keep your adventurous little ones entertained. Featuring multiple levels, a giant timber castle, ship and towers, it is perfect for children of all ages. Watch as they scale the secret climbing wall and whizz on the zip wire! Entry is included with your Garden Entry Tickets.

Parking

Parking is available at the Main Castle Car Park (Long Stay), the cost is £1.20 per hour and £6 all day. Please pay on arrival.
